Woman to Woman is the fifth studio anthology by American vocalist-songwriter Keyshia Cole, released on November 19, 2012 through Geffen Records and Interscope Records. Recording sessions took place between early 2011 and mid-late 2012. Cole enlisted a variety of producers such as Darhyl Camper, Dru Castro, Eric Hudson, Harmony Samuels, Keyz, Rodney Jerkins, T-Minus, Vidal and Wonda. Musically, Adult female to Woman is an R&B album, that featured guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Meek Factory, Ashanti, Elijah Blake, and Robin Thicke.
Three tracks from the album were released as singles, all of which were supplemented by music videos. The lead single, "Enough of No Love", was released on July 3, 2012. "Enough of No Dearest" was greeted with a positive reception from critics and peaked at number 84 on the U.s. Billboard Hot 100 chart as well as reaching the peak-ten of the U.s. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. "Trust and Believe" was released on October 22, 2012 as the second unmarried from the album. The third and final single, "I Cull You", was sent to urban contemporary radios on August 23, 2013.
Upon its release, Adult female to Adult female received generally positive reviews from music critics, who commended its progression from Cole'south previous album and the anthology'south concept. The album debuted at number ten on the Usa Billboard 200 chart, selling 96,000 copies in its first week. Woman to Woman likewise peaked at number ii on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Groundwork and development [edit]

The development process of Woman to Woman took place betwixt September 2011 and October 2012.[9] [16] Cole recorded the anthology in sessions at the Geffen headquarters in Santa Monica and Beaker Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Westlake Recording Studios in Due west Hollywood, MSR Studios in New York and Cole's home studio in Cleveland.[17] The anthology's tracks were mastered by Chris Gehringer at Sterling Sound Studios in New York City, New York and were mixed by Jaycen Joshua, with assistance from Trehy Harris at Larrabee Sound Studios in Los Angeles, California.[17] [18]
In 2011, Cole began early stages of production, working with producers Boi-1da, Absurd & Dre, Earl Powell, Toxic and Ester Dean.[ten] In January 2012, tape producer Sak Pasé stated that he had been working on songs with Cole.[19] In August 2012, Cole revealed that she was also working with hip hop record producers DJ Mormile and Thou. Roberson for the anthology.[20] Cole reunited with record producer Rodney Jerkins, with whom the singer had not collaborated with since her second studio album, But similar You (2007).[21] [22]
For Woman to Woman, Cole enlisted the help of several songwriters including Elijah Blake and Jessy Wilson, who co-wrote several songs on the anthology.[23] [24] Cole drew inspiration for the songs from the real-life experiences of her friends.[25] Explaining the writing procedure, Cole told J. Medina of Thisis50 that the anthology reflected effectually her musical growth and that she wanted to speak straight to her female audition from her point of view. She continued, "I brought songwriters on for this album and we were able to capture some moments in some of [my friends'] lives as well".[25]
Release and artwork [edit]
In October 2011, Cole announced that her fifth album would be titled Adult female to Woman.[x] The championship was inspired by Cole's conclusion to connect with her female audience through the album.[x] The anthology's cover artwork was taken by American photographer Derek Blanks as an change ego photoshoot and the photoshoot took place on June 28, 2012.[17] [26] [27] On October 11, 2012, Cole revealed the covers for the standard and deluxe editions.[28] When asked almost the album embrace, Cole said: "it's literally me taking my face off. "Enough of No Love" is the album's lead single. It is a mid-tempo vocal featuring hip hop creative person Lil Wayne. It was sent to radio[36] and released for digital download on July 3, 2012.[37] The song was written by Redd Stylez and Cole and was produced by Harmony with a mid-tempo R&B production.[38] Information technology peaked at number 7 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. On August 9, 2012, the song debuted at number 94 on the Billboard Hot 100 where information technology ultimately peaked at number 84.[39]
"Trust and Believe" is the album's 2d single. Information technology is a ballad written by R&B duo The Righterz and produced by DJ Camper. "Trust and Believe" was released for digital download on October 22, 2012[40] and again on November thirteen, 2012. On Oct 13, 2012, Cole performed "Trust and Believe" at the Black Girls Rock! Awards. The show aired on BET on November 4, 2012.[52] On November 17, 2012, Cole performed in Chicago at WGCI's Large Jam 2012 alongside Usher, Rick Ross, Kelly Rowland, Fat Joe and Future. Cole performed "Plenty of No Beloved" and "Trust and Believe".[53] On Nov twenty, 2012, Cole and Ashanti performed "Woman to Woman" at Best Buy Theater in New York City[54] Cole performed "Enough of No Beloved" and "Trust and Believe" at the 2012 Soul Train Awards, which premiered on November 26, 2012.[55] On March 18, 2013, Cole performed "Trust and Believe" on Jimmy Kimmel Alive.[56]

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times Cole revealed that she was planning the Woman to Woman Tour for 2013. "I want powerful singers, Brandy, possibly, Melanie Fiona, possibly. Merely singers that can really blow but too have some things and records out right at present," said Cole. "We're working that out right now, so that could be a February–March."[57] The Adult female to Adult female Bout began on March 28, 2013 at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury in Westbury, New York, and ended on April 21, 2013, at the Pull a fast one on Theater in Oakland, California, visiting eighteen North American venues and featuring Chrisette Michele and Mateo equally supporting artists.

Woman to Adult female received by and large positive reviews from music critics.
